Glowing

Here is a woman; you know
the word – a woman,
who is soft as steel
– whose veins show under her skin
like frozen lakes.
You know her name.
You do not say it.
Here is a woman; small as anything,
big as everything –
whose body does not melt like wafers
on wet tongues;
who wears her eyes so comfortably
and wields their magic
– that power, sharp like a razor
cutting down to size.
Here is a woman; you know
the word – a woman;
her bleed, and bent, and sick.
Here is a woman; she
carries. A woman –
shining and shadowing –
the whole of our
honey moon hanging
just out of reach.
